Day 1: Zurich - Lucerne - Emmental - Bern - Thun – Grindelwald
On day 1 of the Swiss Alpine tour, travel to Lucerne that boasts of attractions like a 14th century wooden bridge and many souvenir shops. Later in the day, travel to the hamlet of Affoltern where you can visit some local cheese factories to see for yourself how the famous Swiss Emmental Cheese is made. Visit Bern, the capital of Switzerland that has many attractions like the Old Clock Tower, Kramgasse and the Cathedral of St Vincent that dates back to the 15th century. Then drive to Interlaken, a beautiful mountain resort that boasts of great scenic beauty. Later in the day, travel to Grindelwald where you stay overnight.
Day 2: Grindelwald
Visit the beautiful waterfall of Truemmelbach before taking a tunnel lift to enjoy the beauty of the glacier waterfalls inside the mountain. Later, board a modern cogwheel train that passes through the Eiger Mountain to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe. Visit the Ice Palace, one of the most important attractions of the region. Sometime around afternoon, drive back to Grindelwald where you can spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3: Grindelwald - Gstaad - Col des Mosses - Aigle – Zermatt
The Swiss Alpine Tour takes you to Gstaad, one of the most famous ski resorts in Switzerland. As you make your way towards the Mountain villages, enjoy a number of breathtaking scenic delights. Later, drive through the Rhone river valley to visit the Chillon castle in Geneva. Continue with your journey through pretty vineyards and fruit orchards to Taesch where you board a train to Zermatt. Stay overnight in Zermatt.
Day 4: Zermatt - Nufenen Pass - Gotthard Pass - Furka Pass - Oberalp Pass - Sedrun
Pass through winding mountain roads, beautiful hamlets and picturesque waterfalls as you drive to the Ice Castle. Later, travel to the Gotthard Pass by taking an ancient road used by horse wagons in the earlier days. You then drive past the Oberalp Pass before arriving at Sedrun for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Sedrun - Lukmanier Pass - Lugano - Como (Italy) - Maloja Pass - St. Moritz
The Swiss Alpine tour takes you through the Lukmanier Pass to the southern and Italian speaking part of Switzerland. Indulge in a tour around the beautiful lakes of Lugano and Como (Italy) besides visiting the Breggaglia Valley. Enter Switzerland again and drive through thirteen hairpin bends over the magnificent Maloja Pass. Drive to the mountain resort of St. Moritz where you stay overnight.
Day 6: St. Moritz - Zernez (National park) – Flüela Pass - Davos - Chur - Heidi land - Zurich
On the final day of your Swiss Alpine Tour, visit Zernez before driving through the Fluela Pass to Davos. Spend some time at leisure before setting out towards Zurich, where the Swiss Alpine Tour ends.
