Initially known as Aarmuhle, Interlaken got this name in 1891. The town is cuddled between two lakes, and hence called so.
Interlaken is known to be the oldest tourist resort in Switzerland. A municipality that is part of the Canton of Bern, Interlaken is very close to the Alps.
